Fractions is a whole, organic and fragmented, are 60 paintings that works together or independently and establishing relations with their peers. Then, it is the spectator who itself take possession of the relationship and faces the possibility to choose and to combine the pieces in an original way, to amuse its own composition, its work. With colors and textures from the earth, fractions suggest a possible human speech translated into artistic work.
"Soul, mind, scars, abandonment, exile, injured, guilt; they are part of the labyrinth of the existence that configure our cosmos. We live immersed in that cosmos, in a vortex of feelings that are shown like a complex as a whole, but we possess at times, the capacity to generate equilibrium. The work fractions of Evangelina Elizondo remit us to an aesthetical answer marked by a personal and social context that requires inevitably a universal answer. Color, the essential of the three elements, textures, units that moves as a cell, changing structure, are the artistic elements selected by Elizondo to compose that fragmented cosmos. We’ll extract those pieces that turn out to be encouraging in this idea of order that each one establishes to generate their own equilibrium, same as in life, with the labyrinth carried by the soul, mind, scars, abandonment, exile, injured, guilt…"
